What is Mt. Hood Volleyball Club?

Mt. Hood Volleyball Club is a volleyball program designed to help athletes of all levels grow their skills, learn teamwork, and develop confidence both on and off the court. 


What ages/grades can participate?

We offer programs for athletes from Kindergarten through High School, including: 

  • Huckleberries: 5-9 years old. We teach movement and skills.

  • VTP-Volleyball Training Program: This popular training program is a great way learn or improve skills. If you do not want to join a team, have a club schedule or pay the fees the VTP program is for you. VTP is for 5th grade and up

  • Competitive Club Teams: 12U through 18U for athletes ready for tournament play


How do I register for tryouts?

Look for registration links on our website or social media. Early registration is encouraged as spots fill quickly.

How often do teams practice and play?

Practices are typically 6-9 times per full month. Tournaments are held on weekends during the club season. Additional clinics and camps are offered throughout the year.


What is the cost to participate?

Program fees vary depending on team level. Fees typically cover gym rental, coaching, tournament entry fees, and equipment. 

Local teams have 4-5 local friendship tournaments.

Regional teams participate in Power League, Regionals, 2 2 day tournaments

Nationals teams participate in Power League, Regionals, 2 days tournaments and 1-2 travels

Elite Nationals participate in Power League, Regions, 2 day tournaments and multiple travels

Cost will be posted on the website in late September.


How do you handle playing time?

Playing time is earned through attendance, effort, attitude, and performance. Developmental teams focus on giving every athlete meaningful court time, while competitive teams may have more variation based on team needs. We strive to have a role for every athlete.


Who are the coaches?

Our coaches are accredited, experienced, and passionate about developing players at every level. Many are current or former varsity coaches and competitive players. We are posting coaches on our website.


What is your refund policy?

Mt. Hood Volleyball Club has a no-refund policy once the season begins. This helps us cover fixed costs like tournament fees, uniforms, and gym rentals. In rare cases we may offer a credit or partial credit for the next season.


How do I get involved as a parent or volunteer?

Parents are encouraged to help with team meals, fundraising, stay and play events and supporting players from the stands. Contact the club director if you’d like to volunteer.


What should I expect at tryouts?

All players enter the gym, have their picture taken and are given a tryout t-shirt. There are athletic and volleyball skill tests, drills and scrimmages that happen in the 3 hours of tryouts. 

Parents can stay and watch.

When does the season start and end?

Tryouts are early November. Practices start the weekend after Thanksgiving. Most teams end at regionals which is the end of April or first week in May. Some teams attend tournaments in May.


How do I pay?

There is a deposit of $400-$750 depending on the team. The fees can be paid online, cash, or check. Fees begin in December and end in March.
